Hi! I’m so glad you’re here . . .
Hi, My name is Alyssa. My husband Keenan and I started Rae of Blooms from the basement of our home in late 2024. Like many people, I’ve always been drawn to beautiful things—but more than anything, I’ve felt a deep pull to create them. I’ve spent most of my life as what I like to call a “serial hobbyist”—give me a good craft and I’m in my happy place. That love for creativity has taken many forms over the years.
In 2018, around the time I started dating my now-husband, I began baking cakes for friends and coworkers. I quickly realized it wasn’t the baking I loved (though I tolerated it)—it was the decorating: picking color palettes, mastering piping techniques, and most of all, seeing the joy on someone’s face when they saw a cake made just for them. A cereal-themed birthday cake for a kiddo, a nostalgic recreation of a grandma’s recipe for a friend—that was the magic.
Then in 2023, I flowered a friend’s wedding, and something clicked. Creating bouquets, playing with colors, texture and balance—it felt just like decorating a cake, but without the oven. I was two months pregnant at the time, so I had a few other things on my mind... but the seed was planted.
Fast-forward to 2024, when I flowered (and officiated!) another best friend’s wedding, and I knew. The joy it brought me was too real to ignore. So—hi! That brings us to now. Life with a toddler is anything but calm, but a full night’s sleep can do wonders. It’s finally time to nurture that seed and let Rae of Blooms grow. Funny enough, shortly after we received our business license we found out baby number two was on the way! (pictured to the right is us finding out it we are having another boy, with flowers of course)
I started this business for two reasons. First: for little me—the one who used to believe she could do anything. I owe it to her, and to my sons, to chase the joy that lights me up and show them you can pursue the things you love.
And second: for you. Whether it’s being a small part of one of the biggest days of your life, or adding a little sparkle to a regular Thursday, I want to make you and your loved ones smile. And really—who would I be to deny you that?
Can’t wait to work with you!
